Handy Tips

• Tune resistance to your driving style — Loosen the internal clamp for quick, light handbrake flicks in drift or rally titles, or tighten it for a firm, progressive pull that mimics a real hydraulic handbrake.
• Plug-and-play over USB — Connecting directly to a PC via USB registers the HBP as a standard HID device in most sim titles, so it's usually detected automatically without extra drivers.
• Use a wheelbase port for lower latency where available — If your wheelbase has a dedicated handbrake input, connecting there instead of USB can integrate handbrake input directly into the wheelbase's own processing chain.
• Calibrate in-game after mounting — Because the sensor is non-contact, output is smooth and linear, but you should still run your sim's handbrake axis calibration after changing resistance settings so the full range is recognised.
• Mount rigidly to avoid input drift — Any flex in the clamp or base mount will translate into inconsistent handbrake feel, especially during hard, repeated pulls. Check the clamp tension before each session.
• Non-contact sensing means no wear-related drift — Unlike potentiometer-based handbrakes, the Hall-effect sensor doesn't physically contact a resistive track, so it won't develop the dead spots or signal noise that come from mechanical wear over time.
