W04F 1.5A 400V Bridge Rectifier Diode (4-Pin DIP) – Technical Specifications:
Component Type – Single-Phase Bridge Rectifier
Package – 4-Pin DIP (W04 style)
Peak Repetitive Reverse Voltage (VRRM) – 400V
Average Forward Current (Io) – 1.5A
Peak Forward Surge Current – 50A (8.3ms)
Forward Voltage Drop – ~1.2V per leg
Pin Configuration – AC, AC, +, –
Operating Temperature – -55°C to +150°C
1: A bridge rectifier converts AC voltage into pulsating DC by routing both halves of the AC waveform through the diode bridge. Connect your transformer secondary or AC source to the two pins marked "~" (AC), and take your DC output from "+" and "–".
2: Always add a smoothing capacitor (typically 1000µF–4700µF electrolytic) across the + and – output to convert the pulsating DC into smooth DC suitable for powering electronics.
3: The 400V rating refers to the maximum reverse voltage the bridge can block — for mains-derived supplies this provides a generous safety margin, but never exceed the rated 1.5A average current.
4: Bridge rectifiers run warm under load — for currents approaching the 1.5A limit, ensure the PCB has adequate copper area or add a small heatsink to the package for long-term reliability.
5: Always double check pin orientation before powering up — reversing the AC and DC connections will not damage the bridge itself but will result in no usable DC output.
